President: Sam Graines
“I would be honored to be your Student Body President for the 2022-23 school year,” rising senior Samantha Graines wrote in her 9-page platform. After transcribing every Plenary her sophomore year and leading every Senate her junior year, Graines is ready to be the student body’s president – and she’ll tell you standing on a bench.
“When I came to Parker as a freshman, I felt that Student Government was one of the first places I felt a community,” Graines said.
By taking inspiration from junior Civic Lab, Graines wants to work with the administration to create social justice initiatives for the entire Upper School to participate in. “I want to make and facilitate change outside of the four walls of Parker along with making Parker better.”
“I’m the type of person who is constantly striving to be the very best I can be,” Graines said.
She believes that she contains all the necessities to be Parker’s next president: experience, knowledge, empathy, and work ethic. Some of her non-Student Government qualifications include softball captain, “Weekly” News Editor, and FWPMUN USG-Admin. “I hold myself to a higher standard than anyone else and I always give my best effort.”
“To end it off, I am passionate, determined, and would be the change that the student body needs.”
