Letter From the Editors, Issue 6 – Volume CXI

Hey Parker,

Love is in the air – and what do we love more than good journalism! This Valentine’s Week, Cupid traded the bow-and-arrow for a stack of oh-so-romantic Weeklys. Ditch the conversation hearts for some conversation-starting pieces. Debate Lucy Wrubel’s cafeteria review with that special someone, or take them to the dungeon for some RPG with Harry Lowitz.

To give our staff and our community the time it needed, we decided on a special, two-in-one extended issue. This means we have some great long-term reporting from Sam Graines, who looked at the impact of COVID-19 on the Athletics department; Eden Stranahan, who took to the poker-filled hallways; and Tess Wayland of JET fame, who outlined the school’s evolving fundraising and financial assistance strategy. We also had time for a trip to the archives, and were able to highlight articles, opinions, and poems published by Parker’s first Black Student Union over 50 years ago.

Celebrate the love and light in your life. Most importantly, extend it to yourself. We <3 our staff and all of you!

xoxo, JET
