In response to “Cultural Sensitivity Surrounding Costumes”

Our daughters attend Parker in the second and fifth grades.  This year they enjoyed their Halloween experience as a Unicorn and also as Queen Amadala from Star Wars.  Our Unicorn was happy to share the colored rainbows of her costume – and to share in the historical significance of the mythical writings of the ancient Greeks and even references in the Bible.  Our Queen celebrated the history of the movies and how the characters have been developed with a cultural and ethnic and outworldly openness in which all creatures great and small – and also alien – are created equal.  Another great Halloween season.
