33 Things to Do Before Graduating Parker
Things I Have Done and Things I Wish I Did
I have been at Parker for fourteen years, and it feels surreal to say that I won’t be coming back next year. While Parker has certainly had its moments in these past years, I am forever grateful for being able to attend this school. As my final issue on the Weekly, I want to pass down 33 things that I have either done or wish I had done at Parker. Here we go!
- Cry at school. You can’t help when you are going to start sobbing uncontrollably, but when you do, here are some of the best spots.
- Work out with the athletic trainer. I mean, it’s like free personal training.
- Get the actual gym uniform that is required.
- WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITORS FOR “THE PARKER WEEKLY.”
- Start a committee!
- Start a club!
- Nap on the fourth floor chairs, pretending as though there aren’t bugs forever nesting inside in them.
- Sit on the sophomore bench, pretending as though the wooden bench is comfortable.
- Enjoy your lunch in the courtyard.
- Enjoy your lunch on the table/balcony situation outside.
- Enjoy your lunch in the cafeteria before being asked to leave by the second grade assistant teachers.
- Get your license so that you can pull up in Circle Drive like a boss.
- Visit the ledge.
- Take a mental health walk around South Pond.
- Attend Senate.
- Walk in the Homecoming parade.
- Get mercy ruled in athletics.
- Get cough drops from the nurse’s office.
- Play on the playground, even if you are in high school.
- Make a comment in Student Government.
- Check out a book from the library.
- Go to 7-Eleven in the five minutes between class.
- Make a genuine connection with a teacher.
- Eat only cafeteria food for a week. The food is incredible and we should all be very grateful.
- Attend an Hour of Code and learn the language of the future.
- Attend a White Out game and keep faith in our Colonels.
- Attend all of the homecoming games.
- Play the entire history of Bach’s music on the piano in the lobby.
- Do the mile run around the third floor hallway for fun.
- Watch a sports game in the humanities center.
- Send an all-school email.
- Make an MX announcement.
- Lastly, appreciate all of your teachers, faculty, college counselors, administration members, staff members, security guards, maintenance staff, and everyone else. No matter how big or small their role, they were all there to make your life at Parker worthwhile.
