Yesterday on the turf, under grey clouds, the boys’ varsity soccer team took on Lincoln Park High School in the last sporting event of Homecoming Day this year. Led by their captains, seniors Andres Marx and Rafi Derringer and junior Cameron Miller, the team played to a 2-0 loss. Though they gave their best efforts offensively and defensively, two strong plays by the Lincoln Park Lions made the difference. Parker’s goalie Chase Heyman, a junior, played a great game, making impressive saves to keep the goal differential at two. The Colonels didn’t give up even when they were scored on, still creating plays and working for a goal. Additionally, the Colonels capitalized on one of their offensive chances with a beautiful finish–but the play was called offsides.  Marx said, “It was a very rough game and a very disappointing result.”
